Boost Your Annual Pass Savings
When does the Walt Disney World Annual Pass make sense? At what point do you break-even? The answer to these decidedly difficult Disney dilemmas can be answered with a little Disney science and some quick calculations. Knowing the benefits of the Annual Pass Program and the approximate break-even figures can help you decide if you'll save money on your next Disney World vacation.
Disney Annual Pass Strategy - Hotel Discounts
Before buying an Annual Pass for the purposes of a room-discount, first, check to see if a room-only offer is available to the general public. Working with a Disney travel agent can be helpful here because they will have access to Annual Pass rates. The difference between a room-only offer and an Annual Pass discount can be as little as 7 or 8 percent.
Only one Annual Pass is needed to get the room discount. As long as one adult is a Disney Passholder, a hotel reservation can be made using the discounted rate. The non-Passholders can purchase regular Magic Your Way tickets or from a trusted ticket seller. The deepest discounts are most often found at the Deluxe and Deluxe Villa resorts followed by Moderate and Value hotels.
Boost the Value of Your Walt Disney World Annual Pass with Admission
The real value of an Annual Pass begins to show when you have at least two trips planned to Walt Disney World in the same year.
For example, you take a vacation each year during the first week of July. If you purchase an Annual Pass, plan to visit the following summer again but go the last week of June - the week before your Annual Pass expires. You will have gotten two summer vacations using the same Annual Pass - saving you a bundle!
Can You Save on Dining?
The dining discounts are helpful but the popular locations come with restrictions. For example, the discounts at Epcot are restricted to lunch only. But 20% is still a nice discount. You might also consider the Tables in Wonderland membership. As a Disney World Annual Passholder you’re eligible to purchase this discount dining program that will entitle you to 20% off dining at most table service locations. 18% gratuity is automatically included so it’s like getting the the tip for free plus an additional 2%.
