Disney'S Contemporary Resort

Enjoy deluxe accommodations in one of the best locations on Walt Disney World property. This opening-day hotel offers plenty of Disney World nostalgia but in a modern setting. The Contemporary is considered a "best of the best" hotel for it's ideal location, convenience, and for it's spacious rooms.

Rooms

There are 633 standard guest rooms, 23 suites and 428 villas (at Bay Lake Tower). Standard rooms are among the most spacious on Walt Disney World property and are well appointed: a large writing desk, office chair, plenty of lighting options, sofa, and large closets. Disney's Contemporary Resort is one of Disney's largest convention hotels and therefore Disney attempts to cater to business travelers by offering a few additional perks. There are a few additional amenities offered here such as a toothbrush, toothpaste, mouthwash, a sewing kit, a complimentary bottle of water (replenished daily) and larger-than-average shampoo and conditioner bottles.

Bathrooms are among the most spacious on property and have beautiful Italian and French marble throughout. It's one of the nicest bathroom designs at Walt Disney World except that the vanity is located inside the bathroom so rotating people through the "getting ready" process might take a little longer.

Guest rooms at the Contemporary have plenty of adjustable lighting so you can make it soft or bright. Why can't all hotels figure this out? One option for soft lighting is a panel made of honey-colored mosaic tile which emits a warm glow in the room. There's also a large writing desk with an ergonomic, adjustable chair.

Most standard rooms have two queen-size beds, or one king-size bed and a
day bed. Suites here are among the nicest on property, especially the Hospitality Suite.

There are 2 parts to Disney's Contemporary Resort: Tower and Garden Wing. Tower rooms have 2 views, Bay Lake or Theme Park. Tower rooms are among the most expensive room categories at Walt Disney World and are highly desirable, especially Theme Park view.

Garden Wing rooms are identical to Tower rooms but cost less and are slightly further away. The savings here makes the Garden Wing and excellent value. The Garden Wing has its own entrance and parking lot and that is especially convenient as parking can be a real problem at the main tower. Garden Wing rooms are a bargain considering you get all the benefits of the resort, but because there's a slight walk involved, the rooms cost a lot less.

Second floor rooms in the Garden Wing do not have a full balcony. First floor rooms have a patio and third floor rooms have a full balcony. If you prefer a balcony or patio, be sure to make a request (requests cannot be guaranteed).

Guests choosing Club Level accommodations at the Contemporary receive personalized concierge service and lounge with continental breakfast, midday snacks and evening wine, hors d’oeuvres, cordials and desserts.

Pools

There are two heated pools with slides, whirlpools, interactive water feature, leisure pool, and poolside cabana rentals. Compared to other Deluxe Resorts, the pool here doesn't have much of theme but it handles large crowds well. There's also a health club, tennis, fishing, marina watercraft rental, arcade and recreation activities including Disney movies under the stars.
