Hotel Highlights
Disney's Pop Century Resort

This Disney Value Resort is a trip down memory lane with the biggest hits of 20th-century pop culture. Guests will experience a Resort that celebrates the fashions, catchphrases, toys and dances with larger-than-life icons.

Disney's Pop Century Resort is a notch up from the All Star Resorts and a favorite among those who typically stay in the Value category. Rates can be slightly higher than All Stars. Larger-than-life icons from the decades starting with the 1950's are found throughout the resort - a little tacky but kids will think it's cool.

Expect small rooms at just 260 sq. ft, similar to the All Star Resorts. There's just enough room to open the door without hitting the bed. Bathrooms are small but the vanity is located outside the bathroom making it easier to rotate people through the getting ready process. Rooms sleep up to 4 people plus 1 child under age 3 in a crib. The vast majority of the rooms have 2 double beds, and some rooms have 1 king bed. Guaranteed king bed rooms and Preferred Location Rooms cost more per night.

You should know that walls are thin at the Value Resorts so it's pretty easy to hear what's happening in your neighbor's room.

There are 2 categories of rooms: Standard Rooms and Preferred Rooms. They are all identical but rates vary based on location. The Preferred rooms tend to be near the pool and/or lobby. These rooms can be noisy well into the evening because of the pool area. Most of the 2,880 rooms are Standard Rooms. Some can be far from the main facilities and transportation - up to a 10 minute walk. You can make a request for a Standard Room that is closer to lobby - Disney will not guarantee it but they do try hard to fulfill requests.

Bell Services does not exist at any of the Disney Value Resorts, instead "Luggage Delivery Service" is offered. Bags are delivered on a once-per-hour schedule. If you're using Disney's Magical Express airport shuttle, your luggage can easily take 5 to 6 hours to arrive. For example, if you land at 5 p.m., you might not get your bags until 10 p.m. It might be worth retrieving your own luggage at the airport and bringing it with you on the Magical Express bus.

There are 3 uniquely theme pools at Pop Century in each third of the resort complex. The main pool, known as the Hippy Dippy Pool, is the largest of the three and located directly behind the lobby.

There is no table service restaurant at Pop Century but the food court is sufficiently big enough to handle big crowds. Alternatively you can walk over to Disney's Art of Animation Resort using the Generation Gap bridge for a fantastic food court with contemporary and healthy menu.

Room service is not available but pizza delivery from Disney is an option but it's going to be the worst pizza you've ever had.

Getting Around

Complimentary bus transportation is provided to all Walt Disney World Theme Parks. Lines for buses can get long especially during the morning rush and again when the parks close.

Pop Century is technically in the ESPN Wide World of Sports district but it's reasonably close to Disney's Hollywood Studios, and Epcot.
