Hotel Highlights
Disney's Port Orleans Riverside

Return to the charming days of riverboats and Mark Twain at this moderately priced resort. Courtly pillars, grand staircases and splendid gardens blend with the Mississippi-style waterways and gracious Southern hospitality. "Mosey over" to Alligator Bayou and discover its rustic architecture, front porches and meandering walkways. A stocked fishing hole, country-style pool, flowered fields and two-story cottages create the nostalgic romance of down-home charm.

Disney's Port Orleans Resort is divided into two sections: Riverside and French Quarter. At Riverside, there are 2,048 guest rooms divided into two parts: Magnolia Bend and Alligator Bayou. Most Guest rooms have 2 queen beds and can sleep up 5 people plus one child up to age 3 in a crib. Rooms have a narrow, pull-down bed, ideal for children up to age 9. There are a limited number of rooms that have 1 king bed.

Royal Rooms have a nicely appointed Disney princess theme but they are also the furthest rooms away from the lobby. In short, Disney took the least desireable rooms, gave them a princess theme, and then made them the most expensive rooms at the hotel. Each of the 512 Royal Guest Rooms feature fiber-optic fireworks above the ornately decorated beds, custom linens and drapes, and beautiful Disney prince and princess artwork.

Although there are several room categories here, the main difference is between Standard View and Preferred View. Standard View rooms, as well as many Garden View and River View rooms can be far from the lobby and dining  and may overlook gardens, woods, or a parking area. Preferred rooms are located closer to the lobby and dining.

There are several bus depots throughout the property so most rooms are close to at least one of the bus stops.
